County Veteran Service Officers
The County Veterans Service Officer has a compassionate understanding of the problems, which confront veterans, widows, widowers, and children. The County Veterans Service Officer knows the extent, the meaning and the application of laws that have been passed by the U.S, Congress in the interests of veterans and their dependents. They also know the rules and regulations adopted by the Department of Veterans Affairs to clarify and implement those laws. The County Veterans Service Officer will apply specialized knowledge in the best way suited to the needs of every individual veteran or other beneficiary who comes to the office for assistance.

VETERANS SERVICE OFFICER
Robert Hunter is a retired Veteran of the United States Army. His Military Occupational Specialty was that of Flight Medic and he is a lifetime Member of the Dustoff Association. He served in numerous positions and duty stations during his 23 year career, the last of which was 1SG, United States Army Air Ambulance Detachment, 5th AVN BN, Fort Polk, LA. Robert retired and settled his family here in Kaufman County on December 31, 2010. On January 20, 2017, he was appointed to the position of County Veterans Service Officer by the Kaufman County Commissioners’ Court.
